education is power. that is why they want to take it.
education is more than just learning facts. it is the foundation of opportunity, the key to critical thinking, and a path to independence. project 2025 is attacking education because an informed, empowered public is harder to control. this is not about reforming schools. this is about making sure future generations do not have the knowledge, resources, or security to challenge those in power.
public schools are being gutted. funding is being redirected to private institutions, leaving public schools, especially in low-income communities, struggling to provide even basic resources. when education becomes a privilege instead of a right, the cycle of poverty is locked in place.
teachers are being targeted. with union protections under attack, experienced educators are leaving in record numbers. those who remain are being forced to teach under strict political guidelines, removing critical discussions about history, inequality, and systemic issues.
books are being banned. across the country, literature that challenges authority, discusses marginalized histories, or promotes critical thinking is disappearing from classrooms and libraries. controlling what students read means controlling what they know.
schools are becoming less safe, not more. gun violence remains one of the leading threats to students, but instead of addressing it with common-sense reforms, leaders are stripping schools of safety measures. protections for lgbtq+ students are being removed, bullying policies are being weakened, and mental health resources are being defunded.
hunger is a weapon. school lunch programs are being slashed, despite being a vital resource for millions of children who rely on them for daily nutrition. a hungry child cannot focus, cannot learn, and cannot thrive. removing access to food in schools is an intentional act of harm.
losing access to quality education is not just a short-term issue. it determines future employment, financial stability, and overall well-being. fewer educational opportunities mean fewer career opportunities. rising college costs and cuts to financial aid make higher education inaccessible to working-class families. limited education leads to lower wages, keeping people trapped in economic insecurity.
this is by design. when people are struggling to survive, they have less time to resist. when people lack critical thinking skills, they are easier to manipulate. when people are kept uneducated, they are kept in place.
defend public schools. demand that public funding remains in public education, not private institutions that serve the wealthy. fight book bans. read the banned books, share them, and push back against those trying to erase history. support teachers. advocate for fair pay, protections, and the right to teach real history, science, and literature. demand school safety. push for protections that actually keep students safe, including mental health resources, anti-bullying policies, and real gun reform. care for students in need. support school meal programs, donate to mutual aid efforts, and make sure no child in your community goes hungry.
education is not just about what we learn in school. it is about the future of our communities, our economy, and our democracy. they want to create a generation that does not know how to fight back. we cannot let them.
